Virtual Reality Vault

The biggest issue with 2d plans and 3d images is that our clients struggle to understand the designs concept and when you are paying thousands of pounds on a building project this is not good enough. We use virtual reality as part of the design process to show you options and allow you to walk around the proposals as if you would in real life. You get a sense of how the completed building will feel and the sense of space.

While mostly in ruins, the site is a clear connection to the town’s medieval past. Some of the town’s historic pubs, such as the former George Inn and the Crown Inn at Hockerill, date back to the medieval and Tudor periods, though they have been altered over time. Timber-framed buildings in the town centre retain several examples of timber-framed houses, particularly along Potter Street and South Street, showcasing the style common from the 15th century onward. Georgian and Victorian buildings in Market Square reflect the town’s growth as a popular stopping point for stagecoaches in the 18th century, with Georgian and Victorian alterations evident in their facades.

The Corn Exchange, built in 1828, the impressive Corn Exchange on the Market Square is a prominent Victorian building that speaks to the town’s economic importance as a market center. Drill Hall is located on North Street, the drill hall was built in 1906 and featured a large arched entrance for accommodating troops and horses. The building still stands, though it has been modified for modern use. Bishop’s Stortford College was founded in 1868, the college features later additions in a mock-Tudor style, like the College Lodge built in 1924, which overlooks the main building. Bishop’s Stortford has undergone modern redevelopment, including a housing development near the railway station and other projects, though this has sometimes led to concerns about the town’s historic character.

Thremhall Park is on the outskirts of the town, Thremhall Park is an example of modern commercial development, housing architectural firms and other businesses in a landscaped setting. Modern residential architecture can be found throughout the town, including architect-designed contemporary extensions that blend new and old elements, such as exposed timber, brick, and large glass installations.

The town’s historic centre provides a walk through different eras of building, reflecting its growth from a medieval settlement to a busy market and commuter town.
